About Us

Our Goal

At Pruitt counseling we are passionate about helping you live the life you want.  All of our counselors identify as Neurodivergent and are passionate about helping other neurodivergent individuals.  Our person centered approach means we tailor our sessions to your specific needs rather than following a blanket format.

We help individuals ages 14 and up. We offer in person sessions in the greater Rochester area including Pittsford, Brighton and Victor. Through telehealth we are able to help people across New York State. Our telehealth sessions are done through a secure HIPPA-compliant software.

Jessica Pruitt MS LMHC

Jessica is a licensed mental health counselor. She earned her MS in mental health counseling from St John Fisher in 2015. Jessica has a history of working with adults, teenagers, couples, and families impacted by anxiety, depression, grief, and overwhelming life stressors. She has also worked with co-occurring disorders, codependency, and addiction.

Jessica is a neurodivergent parent and spouse.  Because of this she believes sessions must be created to support your individual needs.  Her approach to therapy combines psycho-education, cognitive, and narrative therapy. This and her belief that everyone is the best expert in their life allows her to help clients build on their strengths while addressing barriers. She is passionate about helping clients build and learn skills to help them become more resilient and live the life they desire.

When not in session, Jessica spends time with her family, out in nature, or doing something creative. Art has taught her the value of enjoying the process rather than the outcome. Jessica is currently working on becoming an Adirondack  46er. She loves reading, crafting and family time.

Jessica specializes in:

ADHD,  Anxiety, Depression, Parenting Struggles, Codependency, Relationship Struggles, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions

“The middle is messy but it’s also where the magic happens.”

-Brené Brown

Being an adult is HARD! Hell, life, in general, can be challenging. Sometimes, you are sad, anxious, or struggling with task paralysis. Other times, stress and conflict consume your life. It’s terrifying and often overwhelming to think you can’t change it alone. You aren’t sure when or how it got so bad, but you are sure you want to find a way out. Either way, it can no longer be ignored.

Jenna identifies as neurodivergent and lives in a blended, mixed-race family. Because of this, she believes providing a safe and supportive space based on the client’s unique needs, values, and experiences is essential. Jenna utilizes a strength-based, collaborative approach that integrates many evidence-based theories. She feels that each person has the power to grow and recognizes that sometimes people need a guide to walk with them along their journey. Jenna earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. John Fisher University.

When not in session, Jenna enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her French Bulldogs, Lucy and Roxanne. She loves listening to true crime podcasts or binge-watching a good TV series.

Jenna specializes in:

Young Adults/Adults, ADHD, Anxiety, Codependency, Depression, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, Relationships Struggles, Self-Esteem/Body Image, Substance Use
